Kitchen Extension, Hastings

Completed: 2024

A contemporary rendered rear kitchen extension to a 1930s Hastings property, creating a bright, generous connection between the house and garden. The homeowners originally had a small galley kitchen, with very limited space for hosting friends & family. Now the extension has provided an amazing space with room for a dining table, comfortable chairs for lounging, and a great sized kitchen and utility room.

The extension features large bi-fold doors across much of the rear elevation, bringing natural light deep into the new kitchen and creating a strong visual connection with the landscaped terrace. The extension opens directly onto the newly designed garden, with stepped levels providing a natural transition between the kitchen and garden. Timber fencing, mature planting and palms soften the contemporary architecture, creating a relaxed modern coastal/Sussex feel that works particularly well within its Hastings setting.
